LUKOIL MID-EAST INCREASE THE PRODUCTION AT WEST QURNA-2 FIELD

LUKOIL Mid-East Limited (a part of LUKOIL Group) put into operation two new multi-well pads at the West Qurna-2 field today. The bringing in of new wells allowed to significantly increase output from the Mishrif accumulation. In accordance with the Service Contract, the Company carried out its obligations to reach the target production level of 480 thousand barrels per day at the West Qurna-2 project.
The new well pads became the largest constructed since the very beginning of the development of the field. Field facilities include 47 new production wells, 27 km of overhead power lines, and 16 km of field pipelines. The facilities feature modern production automation systems to conduct all necessary management and extraction control operations remotely. Mechanization of production and water supply wells includes use of high-tech downhole equipment that allows to monitor inflow from the reservoirs.
The new well pads will ensure stable production levels at the West Qurna-2 field and provide new jobs for local residents.
