LUKOIL Mid-East Ltd (West Qurna-2 project operator) has signed several major contracts for the West Qurna-2 field infrastructure development in Iraq based on the tender results.

LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov participated in the negotiations between Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian Federation President’s special representative for the Middle East and Deputy RF Minister for Foreign Affairs, Nouri al-Maliki, Iraqi Prime Minister, Abdelkarim al-Luaybi, Iraqi Oil Minister, and Labid Abbawi, Iraqi First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, which took place in Baghdad on March 1st.

LUKOIL Mid-East Ltd. (an operating company of OAO LUKOIL) signed a contract with Baker Hughes for production drilling and well development in the Mishrif formation of the West Qurna-2 field in Iraq.

Today, the Moscow headquarters of OAO LUKOIL hosted negotiations between Vagit Alekperov, President of OAO LUKOIL, and Iraqi Oil Minister Abdelkarim Luaybi.

LUKOIL Mid-East Ltd. (OAO LUKOIL’s operating company) started recruitment of local staff to work at the West Qurna-2 field in the Medina district, Basra province, southern Iraq.

Vagit Alekperov, OAO LUKOIL President, took a working trip to Iraq on April 3 and 4, 2011.

A visiting session of the Community Outreach Committee working within the framework of Iraq’s West Qurna-2 project took place in Moscow today.
