The West Qurna is one of Iraq's largest undeveloped oil fields, located on the south of Iraq, 65 kilometres north-west of the large seaport town of Basra.
The West Qurna 2 project is one of the most important overseas upstream assets of LUKOIL. The WQ-2 Project is implemented using the most advanced, sophisticated technologies available and will require top quality staff to operate and maintain the facilities. Due to the complicated nature of the Project, it will require employment of both expat and local staff to oversee construction, commissioning, start-up and following safe operations of the facilities.
